Monkey 47 Dry Gin Schwarzwald

The story goes, a retired British airman takes up a guesthouse in the Black Forest of Germany.  Upon renovation of said guesthouse after his death, a bottle of homemade gin that he would serve is discovered tucked away in a box, complete with notes and photographs of the local botanicals used.  What luck!

I will admit the origin story is a bit farfetched, but I will also admit this is an incredibly deep and complex gin.  The number, 47, being the number of indigenious to the Black Forest botanicals used, including six types of pepper.  The others range from lingonberry and cranberry to spruce and allspice.  It has a rich lusciousness not unlike wandering through the forest in a German fairytale.
