The Fortaleza lineup is the gold standard of tequila for me. Agave cooked in a brick oven, use a tahona to crush, and destilled in copper pots, Fortaleza stays true to the tradition of foundation of tequila. All of that comes through in a white tequila that has a sweet buttery mouthfeel with depths of flavor from anise to lemon peel all with a touch of salt. Bold and complex.
The still strength version has a barely unripe pineapple kissed by a grill quality to it for me.
